Opportunity: Analysis of X-ray diffraction experimental data

This project involves investigations to the structural changes of novel metal alloys and organic materials. The project goals are as follows: high-pressure x-ray diffraction collection and structural refinement using diamond anvil pressure cells. Correlation of several data sets of different alloy compositions and organic structural motifs to understand the pressure response over elevated pressure conditions. Alloys and materials to be studied will be prepared in house. High pressure work involves micrograms of material and uses high-pressure techniques and synchrotron x-ray radiation.
